Wonderful raises $550M, valuation jumps to $5B

Dutch-based AI platform Wonderful has closed a Series C funding round of $550 million. The deal brings the company to a valuation of $5 billion, a striking jump for a startup that is not yet two years old.

Wonderful is a strikingly young company: in just under two years it has completed four funding rounds, raising $800 million in total. During that same period, the company relocated from Israel to the Netherlands, where its European headquarters is now based.

Insight Partners back in the driver's seat

The latest round was led by Insight Partners, which also headed the company's previous raise back in March. Software giant Salesforce also chipped in, alongside existing investors Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards and Bessemer Venture Partners — the latter has been on board since the very beginning. Of all these investors, only Index Ventures is European; the rest are American.

An operating system for agents, not factory AI

Wonderful deliberately positions itself not as traditional industrial process AI, but as an integrated operating system for agentic workflows spanning customer, employee and back-office processes. CEO Bar Winkler says clients see AI rapidly expanding into other parts of the organization once it goes into production in a single department. Without a shared operating system, Winkler warns, AI risks creating the same fragmentation that characterizes traditional SaaS environments.

The platform's agents can answer product questions, resolve technical issues and automate other common business tasks. For more complex jobs, Wonderful relies on Google's open A2A protocol, which can split a challenging task among multiple agents.

Version control, A/B testing and an AI Gateway

Users organize their agent development projects in team-specific folders. A built-in version control mechanism tracks revisions and makes it possible to quickly roll back issues. Customers also have access to an A/B testing tool to compare multiple versions of an agent before rolling out the best one to end users.

The platform's second core component is called the Wonderful AI Gateway. It routes each agent request to the large language model best suited to handle it: complex prompts go to powerful frontier models, while simple tasks are processed by smaller, cheaper models. Companies can set their own rules — for example, which developer team may use which models — and the platform monitors LLM usage per business unit to detect cost spikes and potentially insecure access patterns.

Alongside its platform, Wonderful also offers professional services through forward deployed engineering (FDE) teams, which help clients build agents — including complete applications such as CRM systems — in a fraction of the time a traditional software modernization project would take.

We designed the AI OS to be modular and open because enterprises shouldn't have to replace everything they already have to become AI-native. Customers can adopt whichever parts of the platform make the most sense, integrate them with existing systems, choose the best models for each workload, and retain ownership of everything they build.

Facing stiff competition

Competition in the agentic AI market is fierce. Salesforce Agentforce — now itself a shareholder in Wonderful —, Microsoft Copilot Studio, ServiceNow, Intercom Fin and Kore.ai are all positioning themselves in the same segment. Wonderful plans to use the fresh funding to speed up product development and grow its international FDE teams.

The company's valuation has climbed from $700 million to $5 billion across four rounds in roughly ten months. In just the past six months alone, it has more than doubled from the $2 billion valuation it held back then.

For enterprises and developers everywhere weighing an agentic AI platform, this record European raise is a signal that the field is maturing fast — and that the competitive set now runs well beyond Silicon Valley. As Wonderful expands its forward deployed engineering teams internationally, buyers comparing it against Salesforce Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot Studio or ServiceNow will increasingly weigh model flexibility, per-team cost controls and how cleanly a platform integrates with systems they already run — exactly the trade-offs Wonderful is betting on.
